Mentor Township, Oscoda County, Michigan

Mentor Township is a civil township of Oscoda County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,220 at the 2000 census.
== Communities ==

* McKinley is an unincorporated community in the northeast part of the township on the Au Sable River at . The settlement formed around the J. E. Potts Salt & Lumber Company and was given a post office named "Potts" in June 1836. In 1891, the assets of the defunct Potts company was bought by H. M. Loud & Sons Lumber Company and developed the community into a thriving lumber town. The Potts post office was renamed "McKinley" in January 1892. Soon after 1900, the railroad repair shops burned and were not rebuilt. The post office was closed in September 1913.
* Mio is an unincorporated community in the northwest part of the township along the boundary between Mentor and Big Creek Township.
